Connecting to HTC EVO Debian Lenny & SDK 2.2

Scenario:
lenovo desktop thinkcenter model M58p
vmware workstation 7.1 for linux 64bit
virtual machine version 7 debian linux lenny 5.0.5 32bit
memory: 1732MB
disk space: 13GB
processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz

Prepare HTC EVO 4g for the connection with computer:
first: settings->applications->development and activate "usb debugging"

second: settings->connect to pc and make sure that the "default connection type" is "charge only"

while the phone is connected you can continue with the next steps:

Download android sdk 2.2 code:
http://dl.google.com/android/android-sdk_r06-linux_86.tgz

Install important packages and dependencies:
sun-java6-bin
sun-java6-jdk
sun-java6-jre

Important Note: if you are using gnu/linux 64bit you will need to install = libc6-dev lib32ncurses5 ia32-libs g++

List all files in the “android-sdk-linux_86” directory:

As root, go to the directory “tools”:

As regular user try to communicate with the HTC EVO:

At this point you can issue commands from adb to HTC EVO.

Welcome all again to my summer in 東京blog.

Summer here is pretty hot and humid. But believe me feels great to be in sandals and shorts all over the place.

So far I have been visiting a couple of nice popular places like Shibuya, Omote-sando, Harajuku, Odaiba, Ginza, and others.

I have been also at the IBM office located in Shibuya were I had a great time exchanging information with the very nice people that work there.

I has been slow updating the blog since connection of internet is not free and when I use it I want to use it very wisely.

I will try to find a free internet connection somewhere where I can spend more time blogging and letting you know what is new here in Tokyo. But all I can say to everybody... Most likely I am coming back hahaha...

As soon as I arrived to Japan, I knew that something special will be in that country for me :-)

The first day I was in Tokyo I went to the Metro trying to get familiar with it and stop in the station called Tsukijishiro which is where the famous tuna options are going on. Sadly there were some problems with tourists and the market workers that suspended the visit to the options and I could not go take pictures and see all the huge tunas. So I took some pictures of the actual market.

It is impressive how everybody works so fast with so many people and so small space.

As you can see I found one of the funny characters on the famous electronic city "Akihabara" :-)

This is Mayumi, she was the nicest and more helpful person for me in Japan she hook me up with the special SICA card to travel the train JR and Metro Tokyo on a more convenient way.

Here is one of the unforgettable plates I try in Japan. Don't you think it looks OYSY?

Last Days in Korea

Hello everybody :D

I am so happy to be here, the trip was a total of about 17 hours, 14 of them were from San Francisco, CA to Inchon, Korea.

Here is the first picture I took arriving to the airport, Korea is fairly easy to get around... :-)
I have been in a couple of traditional Korean food, delicious, some important streets, and clubs of course.

OK here are a couple of things that called my attention riding the bus in Korea...

Look at the signs, most of the time I do not know what they are marketing in Korea I feel like I really have to learn to read this characters.

My Car and the Glass Incident

Hello all,

I am pretty sad today. I was walking towards my car to get on my way to the gym after another busy day at work and as I walk closer to the car noticed something very strange on the back glass.

I look around to see if there was anything like a rock, metal object, and all I found were pieces of accumulated snow on the street next to my car... I guess one of those things fall right into the glass of my car causing the total destruction of it. :-(

Yes, I park my care often in the street, but my mistake was parking under a high building and under the train rails. Sucks!

On this video, I am serving the ball towards the other side. There is a little confusion on the play but thanks to the technology we could capture the action and do a reply so we could find what exactly happened and what team supposed to get the point.

Basically you can see me #2 serving against the opposite team. Again there are more videos to post so don't stop checking the blog for new posts :-)

Playing Volleyball in Chicago

Here is a clip from a tournament we played at Hoffman Estates a Suburb in IL. I was playing with the "Chicago Coast" team, it was fun but we got second place instead the gold.... :-(

This year I have been playing a good amount of Volleyball thanks to new people i met who also play in leagues, tournaments, etc...

On the video I am the one spiking the ball on the other side of the court, I know it looks pretty far but yes I am wearing the t-shirt with the (number 2) I hope you can find me...

I hope I can put some other clips of me playing against better teams.

Eunbina, and myself planning the trip to Korea, in Starbucks, we discovered that the trick to get wifi free through the iphone did not work... We use the alternative instead :P

I am very exited about the trip my new digital camera is in his way, so I can put more pictures here about before, during and after the trip.
